BIRTH IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

Birth stories are important, but so are all the other stories of joy and growth, struggle and triumph that come tumbling after that day.

We invite you to share those stories with us in the Life After Birth project. What was it like to navigate a NICU stay? What it was like to exclusively pump? What was it like to go back to work? What was it like to have a tiny new life so intertwined with yours? What lessons did you learn in parenthood? What challenges did you overcome? What do you want our world to know about what it is really like to be a parent?

Because your story is so important and so valuable to other families in our community we offer families the gift of photography to capture the reality of your unique parenthood.

Each family will receive a mini photo session in their home, 3 digital images and their story and images posted to the Two Rivers blog.

MILK STORIES

Inspired by The Photo Doula and the Last Latch Project we want to document the real journeys of real families. Each journey, no matter how long, is worth celebrating.

Bergen meets with families in the last days of breastfeeding, pumping or formula feeding to capture photographs of the reality of weaning and share the stories of the relationship through the all challenges and the joy, the sweetness and the bitter.

Each family will receive a mini photo session in their home, 3 digital images and their story posted to the Two Rivers blog.

Families who would treasure weaning photos but who don’t want to publish their story, please see the Milk Stories heading HERE

Who is eligible?

For The Life After Birth Project: All are welcome, including families who are not clients of Two Rivers, regardless of the age of your baby.

Families who would like to participate in a photo session to accompany their story must reside within 17 miles of Lovettsville, Va
